50th anniversary logo We celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2010! The NVCA has been delivering programs for natural resource management since it was formed on May 5th, 1960.

For the past 50 years, we have been in the community protecting people and property from natural hazards, encouraging sustainable development with regard for natural heritage, restoring the health of our watershed through stewardship, and managing conservation lands to promote outdoor education and recreation.

Our 50th Anniversary Community Celebration & Tree Planting
On Saturday May 1st, about 5 dozen people gathered in the pouring rain to celebrate 5 decades of NVCA work. The event took place along the Black Ash Creek Floodway in the Town of Collingwood. The floodway is the largest project ever undertaken by the NVCA. It encompasses a variety of NVCA programs, including flood control, fisheries habitat management, plan review, tree planting, education and outreach, and fostering community partnerships.
